Shaun hails from Beech Island, South Carolina and comes from a long line of slightly off-kilter Southern poets, teachers, tradesmen, bluebloods, rednecks, mystics, businessmen, politicians, builders and destroyers. He tries to cull this collective unconscious cacophony into something interesting and unexpected, yet reliable and familiar…all under one roof. He would like to think that he brings to the real estate business a bit of humor and a dash of Lowcountry style.
Despite his love for his benighted South Carolina roots, he has become one of many transplants to fall wildly in love with the mountains of Western North Carolina. He moved to the Swannanoa Valley in 1998 to attend Warren Wilson College, one of the area’s most colorful and fascinating institutions. There he graduated with BAs in History and Political Science, and emerged with a deep love of the mountains and Appalachian culture.
Shaun has worked for the last 12 years in executive hospitality management, and brings his passion for customer service to his real estate practice. His experience in hospitality has taught him that a fantastic experience must be crafted with lots of planning, research, expertise, and wit. He brings these virtues to all his clients, understanding that for most of the population, buying or selling a home is one of the most thrilling and one of the most terrifying experiences they will encounter. He endeavors to shape what can be a bewildering event into something memorable. He prides himself on being there for his clients every step of the way, whether it requires a lion or a lamb.
Shaun loves dogs, great conversation, the well-turned phrase, traveling, sunflowers, nineteenth century Russian novels, Walt Whitman and Virginia Woolf, college football, the colors green, yellow and orange, as well as learning odd facts that nobody else knows. Give him a call, and he will regale you with random facts and charming little “Southernisms.” Cheers!
